Minotaur

A prop on the set of Harrison Birtwistle's fantastic new opera "The Minotaur", which I saw at Covent Garden last Friday evening and thoroughly recommend. The music is not exactly accessible - to be honest, I'd change stations if it came on the radio - but it works perfectly with the decor, choreography and acting, and above all with David Harsent's magnificently constructed libretto.
I took this during the interval - it was shot across the orchestra pit, and I had to use the digital zoom, so am reasonably happy with the result. Not sure I'll keep it. We'll see.
